Meet Your Trainer : Daniel Castro

Daniel Castro, Teacher Training Director

Daniel became a Yoga teacher in 2011, his training was focused in teaching an introductory level of practitioners. 11 years later, his method of teaching consists in acknowledging the breath as the fulcrum of the practice and then continue with the movement of the rest of the body, starting each asana from within, the vinyasa style of classes he gives are a combination of Ashtanga and Iyengar, being able to suit many different levels in one class as well as seamlessly introducing the stories or philosophical background of each asana, including an approach to self-awareness through meditation and breathwork. His personal practice is mostly Yin Yoga which he teaches regularly. Daniel is also a traditional Thai massage therapist, cacao ceremony host and fire dancer.

Testimonies:

Completing my yoga teacher training in paradise with Yoga Bohemia in Costa Rica was even better than I expected. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and have amazing energy, the course was challenging and has opened my eyes to the many possibilities I can explore in the yoga world. I am forever grateful!

Claire E.

I loved being a student in the 300 hour training! Katie and Daniel seriously bring it! To anyone, get ready for an amazing ride. Your mind will be blown with incredible knowledge and wisdom. Bring a journal. You’ll want to hold onto every second!

Jodi G.

Throughout the Yoga Teacher Training program I have found my own voice and practice. Before YTT, I would feel overwhelmed when rolling out my mat which made self guided practice difficult. Yet practicing alone is such a peaceful experience. An opportunity to meet myself where I am, to nourish my mind and body with what it needs at my pace and rhythm. Through YTT I have gained significant benefits of yoga including philosophy, meditation, sequencing and anatomy. I now have a complete toolbox to craft my own practices, and to share this gift of yoga with others.

Lise S.

A historical and authentic experience into the tradition of yoga as if you have fallen right into the he middle of a legend. Daniel and Katie are inclusive of a multitude of lineages of yoga as well as modern perspective. A sharing experience I would recommend for all.

Dany P.

I never thought I would have been good enough to tackle 200 hours of teacher training! This experience has been the most intensive, challenging, focused, heart opening and confidence building experience that I have ever been so happy to experience and I couldn’t have done it without the support of such knowledgeable and compassionate teachers and such an incredible cohort of students.
